Cricket Batting Helmet Size Chart
Cricket Helmet Sizing Guide
A correctly fitted helmet is one of the most important safety decisions a cricketer can make. Too loose and it shifts on impact — too tight and it distracts you at the crease. Here's how to get it right.
How to measure
Measure the widest point of your head
Wrap a flexible tape measure around the circumference of your head — just above your eyebrows and ears. This is the fullest part of your skull where the helmet will sit. Write down the number in centimetres and compare it to the chart below.
Size chart
| Size | Head circumference | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| XS | Up to 52 cm | Junior players, smaller adults |
| S | 52 – 54 cm | Youth & slim adult heads |
| M | 55 – 58 cm | Most common adult size |
| L | 59 – 61 cm | Larger adult heads |
| XL | 62 cm + | Wide / extra-large heads |
Fit checklist
01 — Stability
Shake your head gently. The helmet should sit snugly without rocking or shifting.
02 — Grill position
Your eyes should align with the top edge of the grill for a clear, unobstructed view of the ball.
03 — Pressure points
No pinching on the temples or forehead. Chin strap should feel firm and secure, not tight.
Brand fit notes
Sizing can vary slightly between brands. Where possible, try before you buy — or check the brand-specific size guides linked on each product page.
